Pirate Adventure

Andrea just loves Dora the Explorer. This is actually where she masters her counting and her colors.

She already have a few DVDs of Dora. We bought her another DVD.... Dora the Explorer Pirate Adventure. The first time we played it on DVD she was so into it. She loves the boat and couldn't stop shouting boat boat boat.

I am glad we found the DVD on sale for $5. She has another addition to her Dora DVD collection.

You Tarzan... Me Jane

Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday, in the Christian calendar, the Sunday before Easter, sixth and last Sunday in Lent, and the first day of Holy Week. It recalls the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem riding upon an ass, when his followers shouted “Hosanna” and scattered palms in his path. In the Roman Catholic and some Protestant churches, ceremonies of the day are the blessing and distribution of crosses made from palm leaves and the recitation of one of the three synoptic accounts of the Passion. Many wear crosses made of the palm.

I grew up in a very religious family so we are always active in any church holidays. I always remember Palm Sunday as it has a very long Gospel. During this time of the year, we always bring palms to the church to be blessed. When we get home we put a couple of cross made from the palm and put it in our altar.

I do miss Christian celebrations. I think I learn to accept the fact that religion is not very well practiced where I am. As long as my faith is still the same and I still believe in God, I know I am still a good Christian.

May we all repent as we are celebrating the first day of Holy Week. May we all learn to forgive those who have wronged us.

This is my first hibachi style dinner and we had so much fun. It was a great experience. The food was really good and the price is not too bad.

Stations of the Cross

I miss the Lenten traditions in the Philippines. For me, it seems like people in the Philippines are more religious compared here in the USA.

During the Lent, one of our family traditions is to do the Stations of the Cross. Yesterday, our whole family went to Maribojoc to do the stations of the cross. There are certain places that purposely built for this tradition.

Stations of the Cross (or Way of the Cross; in Latin, Via Crucis; also called the Via Dolorosa or Way of Sorrows, or simply, The Way) refers to the depiction of the final hours (or Passion) of Jesus, and the devotion commemorating the Passion. The object of the Stations is to help the faithful to make a spiritual pilgrimage of prayer, through meditating upon the chief scenes of Christ's sufferings and death. It has become one of the most popular devotions for Roman Catholics.

I am glad that my family kept this tradition. Although I was not there with them, seeing some pictures makes me feel I was there too...

Schlotzsky's For Dinner

I usually don't cook for dinner during weekends. Sometimes, we just grab some burger or sandwich or we just eat pizza. Weekends are for "unhealthy" foods... lol
For today, we went to Scholotzsky's Deli. Oh... you would love it! It is one of our favorite. Since it is not very accessible to us, we seldom eat it but for today we opted to get a to go sandwich from schlotzsky's and caved in to our cravings. The last time we had schlotzsky's was last holloween 2009. That was long time ago!!!!

While on our way home, we were tortured by the nice aroma of the sandwich that we can't count how many times we said... "the smell of the sandwich is killing me".. the smell was just so heavenly that we couldn't wait to get home.

When we arrived home we hurriedly set the table and enjoyed our sandwich... It was HEAVEN!

An Afternoon with the Daffodils

It was a great day today. The weather was perfect. It was a great time to be enjoying the sunny day outdoors. Andrea spent her afternoon playing outside with her Nana and Papa. They played ball, blow some bubbles and Andrea ride on her motorized bike. She had so much fun running up and down the stairs which she mastered to do so. You have to clap every time she successfully go up and down. She had a blast.

We were doing some errands (getting new phones) while Andrea is enjoying a good bonding moment with her Nana and Papa. Andrea enjoyed picking up daffodils and gave to her Nana and they put it in the vase. When we were done with our errands we returned to Andrea and saw her having a good time playing. She picked up a couple of daffodils and give to me... it was sweet!

This is my niece Cassi Angelique. She is celebrating her 5th birthday today. She is already in pre-school. She told her father... "Pa I want to have a birthday party in school"... Her father replied.. "Birthday party in school is for the rich only... we are poor so you can't have a party in school". Guess what? she understands that!

Her father is also teaching at the school she goes to. Last week, during her father's cooking class, she saw that they were cooking french fries. She then told her father " Pa, I know what I want for my birthday... let's cook french fries"

Island Paradise

Okay, I have my new addiction. I play Island Paradise in Facebook. I have so much fun cooking and hunting for ingredients. I enjoyed stealing from my neighbors too...lol

MLB and HGH

I am a big fan of Major League Baseball. I even played on baseball fantasy and actually, that is the reason why I became addicted with baseball.

Baseball is not popular in Philippines where I came from. Learning the baseball game was new to me until I became familiar with it and since then, I love the game.

MLB has been rocked with scandals about HGH. Some of my favorite players admitted that they did use HGH. Sometimes, I can say that what a waste for them because obviously there are different human growth hormone side effects. It might not affect them at the moment but in the coming years, it will. Why risk a good career with an HGH Scandal?

You can never really know why these players will use HGH when in fact, they already have a talent. I am sure they won't be drafted if they don't have a talent in this kind of sports.

Anyway, I hope this year MLB won't have many scandals. Baseball season is near and I am really looking forward to it.

Thirty Something...

When you reached the 30's you will be considered old. But hey, why would we worry about age when it is just but numbers? As hard as I convinced myself that age is just a number, the harder it is to disregard the fact that when you reached the 30's your body and your looks change. There is no denying that there is a change. The vibrant glow of the skin is fading. The youthful beauty is fading too.

Moving Company

I have a friend who have moved three times for the last 1 1/2 years. Her hubby's job includes being assigned to different states. Unluckily his assignment has changed so many times over the last 18months. This time around they have to move to South California and right now they are looking for a reliable Orange County moving companies that they can hire to move their possessions.

We were talking earlier and I suggested to her that she needs to hire Orange County movers that she feel safe - movers that she thinks that her possessions will be taken cared of during the move.

An Ugly Fight

I never heard of Joshua Clottey but then again I expected his fight with Manny Pacquaio as a good one because he was a former world champions.

At first, I thought it will be a good fight when we started watching the bout last night because most of Manny's punches didn't hit him. Then on the following rounds, Clottey seems to just defend himself and not throw enough punches.

As rounds after rounds that Manny threw more than a hundred punches (3x more than what Clottey threw) the fight got boring. It became a clear and sure win for Pacquaio. Clottey was the challengers and his camp knew that if he is not gonna take the risk, he won't be able to win the bout. But it seems like Clottey is not listening to his trainers, he continued defending his face and not giving Manny a chance to knock him out and I think he was too scared of Manny that he is scared of taking off his hands away from his face even to throw a punch.

It was an ugly fight. I wanted a fight that both boxers will have their moments. Although I wanted to Manny to win, I still wanted a good entertainment. It seems like the entertainment you got from the bout is not enough to justify the PPV amount that you pay.

Birthday Cake

Yesterday, my hubby celebrated his birthday. We had a wonderful dinner cooked by the chef (me!)... We ate steak and mushroom. We also had crab legs which we didn't eat... ssshhhh we will eat it tonight.

As for dessert, we had German Chocolate cake. This cake is my hubby's favorite cake so, it is just but fit to have german chocolate cake as his birthday cake.

There was one happy girl when she saw the cake. She couldn't wait to dig in to the cake... that's my daughter Andrea!

Wedding Reception Idea

I am a "sucker" when it comes to wedding. I love wedding ideas. I enjoy the thrill, rush and excitement of wedding preparations. And yes! Musical Talent

As my daughter grows up, I noticed that she is musically inclined. She enjoys listening to music and singing at the same time. She has some musical toys that she enjoys to play. My daughter is just 2 years old. I am very close to my nephews and nieces. We are a very closely knitted family so there is no doubt why I am close to the kids at home. It was more than 3 years ago when I left my biological family and migrated here in the USA.

It is so amazing how time flies. My eldest nephew is already in his teenage years. The last time I talked to him, I can't believe how much his voice change. He no longer sound the same. He sound like a big guy now.

Like most teenagers, my nephew has his share of hormonal change. He has some acne in his face. Thankfully, it is not a lot. I told his Mom to check out on some natural acne products and to make sure that his face is washed and clean before going to bed. I am glad that my nephew also understands that this stage is part of his teenage years.

Could this be Manny Pacquiao's last fight?

Manny Pacquiao is running for a Congressional seat in the Philippines. If he wins, there is a chance that he will be busy with politics that he won't have time to train and have a fight.

If this will be Manny's last fight, I want him to win this one. Actually, even if this won't be his last I still want him to win.

The fight will be held at the multimillion home of the Dallas Cowboys. Clottey promises a good fight and prove that he is not just a mere fill-in. As we all remember this fight is supposed to be Pacquiao vs Mayweather. But the negotiations did not went well which ended to a Pacquiao vs Clottey and Mayweather vs Mosley fight.

I am very anxious to watch this game through Pay Per View with Direct TV... Geezz though the price is expensive for a one night bout..

Restless Nights

There are nights that I can't sleep. When I am on my feet for long periods of time, I usually can't sleep at night. Spencer Tunick is known for his nude group photos in public spaces, posed participants for more than an hour in a variety of positions. His latest photo shoot was at the Sydney's iconic Opera House where 5,200 Australians bare all. Tunick has made a name for himself with his works featuring hundreds of naked people at unusual venues.

He has already done shoots in Grand Central Station, NY and Museum of Contemporary Art in Ohio.
